How to Black and White Your Space
Ever thought to yourself how much you admire a specific look and yet you cant help but feel you wouldn't know just how to pull it off? You are not alone! This blog will teach you a few tips on how to utilise this eye catching look in a way that will leave you feeling like a winner.
Make use of Natural Light
Black and White patterns, accessories and furniture thrive in natural light spaces. Pick a room in your house or office that has a few open windows or sun roof or anything at all that allows the sunlight to stream in. This allows for the combination of dark and light to present a calming ambience. When black and white are used in dark spaces, it has the effect of dulling the space further and more so, it simply does not give the desired effect at all.
Patterns
Make use of black and white patterns like stripes and geometrical lines on your walls, carpets and flooring. This cements the theme in a space. Complement this bold use of pattern by following up with a non patterned couch/chairs/settees to create a perfect balance. Finish up the look, with accesories that blend the two colours in a balance.
Break the Pattern
Once you have achieved the above steps, you may notice that your space still appears incomplete, if not bland. This is because the black and white pattern does not appeal to the eye if an element that breaks this pattern is not introduced to this space (with exceptions of bathrooms and office spaces). Add natural green pants to the space/natural wooden finishes/a pop of colour in the form of accesories or even a single chair will also do the trick. Don't be afraid to experiment.
